New Jersey Wedding Morning - Shannon

I first met Shannon when we were both working as waitresses in a restaurant in Virginia Beach. From the first week of knowing each other, we joked that we would be "forever friends". I had the awesome opportunity to shoot her engagement (happy tears all around) and was so lucky to be part of her amazing bridal party.

We spent the morning getting ready at her childhood home - sipping on mimosas, listening to music, and getting ready for her beautiful church ceremony. The ultimate bride-chill-a, nothing could ruin her wedding day and she was glowing the whole morning. She wasn't nervous or worried about anything and she just kept telling us how happy she was to be marrying George. Even though it was pouring outside when we woke up, the clouds parted and we ended up with the perfect weather!

She originally wanted to wear her mom's wedding dress but ended up wearing her mom's veil instead. It was the perfect addition to her bridal ensemble too! When I got to the house, everything was hung and waiting to be worn. I loved that the veil was hung on a sign in her parent's foyer that said 'The Ridge' (a nod to the name of their town, Cream Ridge, NJ). She couldn't have picked a better dress and the simple lace overlay with the pearl beaded belt seemed like it was made for her.

If you know me, you know that it doesn't take much to make me tear up and that morning was no different. Her mom was practically bouncing with excitement all morning and could barely contain her happy tears. Which of course cued mine every time! She and Shannon have such a special relationship and I love that she asked her sister, Dani, and her mom to be the ones to help to her get dressed before the wedding.

A million thank yous to Shannon & George for allowing all of us to take part in what we will always call...the best day ever.
